Palm Sunday Procession
We, The Catholic Christians of St. Xavier's Cathedral Palayamkottai Began our Palm Sunday Ceremony at the Centenary hall. As it had been the custom here, atleast for a few years, the congregation from the English Church (CSI) Military Line joined us long with their Bishop Rt. Rev Christdoss and the Pastor namely Rev. Gibson. Rt. Rev. A. Jude Paul raj, the bishop of Palayamkottai started the liturgy and blessed The palms and the whole congregation as well.
After a short prayer by Bishop Most Rev. A. Jude Paulraj, The Palm Sunday procession moved slowly towards St. Xavier's Cathedral the altar boys with cross and candles stood right in front. Both the Bishops, Priests, Pastors, Children and the faithful feel in the Procession one after the other singing "HOSANNA" Vibrantly all fully Participated in the procession. The children who were in front waved the palms joyously the procession moved through South Bazaar.
As the procession reached St. Xavier's cathedral the people of God belonging the English church prolonged their procession towards their church. We, the Catholics began one Eucharistic celebration which was presided over by one Bishop Most Rev. A. Jude Paulraj. At the end of the Mass, The Parish Priest Fr. Antony Raj Thanked all who extended their helping hand.
