About Parish

In fact Sankarnakoil is a famous Hindu pilgrim centre. It is one of the taluk of Tirunelveli. It is business centre. It was in the beginning under the administration of Chidambarapuram parish. When catholic Christian community increased, there arose a need for spiritual help. It was created as a new parish on 5th April 1988. The proclamation of the erection of the new parish was made by Most Rev. Irudayaraj on the same day. Most of the people belay to Dalit Community. Though economically weak, spiritually strong. The parish priests who were there put this full effort for the overall development of the people.
